<p>Canaan Valley Resort is a year-round mountain destination located in West Virginia within the scenic Canaan Valley, the highest mountain valley east of the Rockies. Canaan Valley Resort, located in Davis, WV, provides downhill skiers of all levels with plentiful skiing and riding options.</p>
<p>The ski area is home to long beginner and intermediate trails serviced by a modern chairlift infrastructure and supported by a large snowmaking system. Canaan Valley has limited skier traffic that allows for short lift lines. The resort is known for being very family friendly and provides ski and snowboard schools. Other resort activities include cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing and snow tubing.</p>
<h2>Where Is Canaan Valley Resort Located?</h2>
<p>The ski resort is located three hours from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. It&rsquo;s 38 miles from the Elkins-Randolph County Airport (KEKN) and 165 miles from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).</p>

250 comfortably appointed lodge rooms, 23 rustic cabins, eight cottages and 34 campsites with electric hookups. Fine dining is offered in the Lodge, as well as Lounge and snack bar. There is lodging for more than 2,500 ranging from quiet inns to condominiums and deluxe mountain homes, within 10 miles of Canaan Valley Resort.

<p>Skiers and riders have access to 47 trails, 850 feet of vertical drop and an average of 160 inches of snow per year. Canaan Valley Resort provides downhill skiers and riders of all levels with multiple skiing and riding terrain options. The resort features a summit elevation of 4,280 feet accessed by 4 lifts with a lift capacity of 6,000 riders per hour. It also offers snowmaking on 75% of trails, and there is 1 terrain park. Trail ratings are 20% beginner, 36% intermediate and 44% advanced/expert. Grooming is done nightly on the trails.</p>

<p>Ski and snowboard lessons and rentals are available. Free lift tickets are available to children 5 and under, and guests 70 and older. The resort is great for family fun, thanks to their snow tubing and ice skating, high class dining and plentiful lodging options. There&rsquo;s also a golf course, plenty of wildlife viewing, hiking and more during the summer. Other summer activities include scenic chairlift rides, swimming, climbing walls, mountain biking and more.</p>
