Boston Mills and its sister resort, Brandywine have a lift capacity of 20,000 people an hour. The lifts are synchronized to control the number of skiers on the slopes. The vertical is 240 feet. They offer 19 runs on 79 skiable acres, four quads, five triples, and two double chairs collectively. Lift tickets are interchangeable and the twin areas are located just minutes apart across a valley. Night skiing is popular. The Tiger run at Boston Mills is the steepest slope in the state.

Mad River opened in 1962 and its instructors have taught more than one million people to ski since that time. This family ski area, with a vertical drop of 300 feet, offers one quad, one triple, and three double chairlifts for uphill capacity.Riders have access to a terrain park and quarter pipe in the snowboarding area. Located in a scenic section of Ohio near Bellefontaine, this ski area offers a nice variety of tree-lined runs overlooking dairy farms in the valley. Snowmaking covers the slopes thus assuring good skiing all season long.

Snow Trails near Mansfield, Ohio's first ski resort, opened in 1961. Snow Trails offers three terrain parks and 15 trails, the longest 2,000 feet, a snow tubing park, 50 skiable acres, and a vertical drop of 300 feet served by four triples, two doubles and two carpets, one in the snow tubing park.

Alpine Valley, just about 10 miles east of Cleveland, has been a local skiing staple for more than four decades. Now there's a mogul field off the double chair to challenge more advanced skiers.
