Eider Shaper Jacket review. OnTheSnow reviewed this shell jacket as part of its 2016/2017 Jacket Buyers' Guide.

Favorite Features: Shape up or ship out! Eider’s latest offering, the Shaper Jacket, was named for its ergonomic “Fix-a-Shape” zipper and collar—this comfy innovation actually pushes the zipper out and away from your face, allowing for increased freedom of movement, while saving your chin from the frigid, abrasive, whisker-pulling zipper hell we’ve all come to accept. The sharp Alaska White colorway is complemented by five outer pockets, underarm pit zips and a removable powder skirt.

Room for Improvement: The shaped collar is a home run, but we’d like to see the addition of a fleece liner to further enhance this feature.

Fit: The Shaper fits better than a glove, with its ergonomic design and 3D adjustable hood. We were happy to find some extra room through the trunk for layering and a snug fit along the bottom hem.

Manufacturer Description: Technically advanced for committed backcountry skiers, the Shaper Jacket features the exclusive ergonomic Fix-a-Shape zipper, which thanks to the unique structure of the teeth, is able to form a cocoon around your face, providing a highly protective collar without limiting mobility of your head or irritating skin. The innovative bi-density weave shell fabric increases the durability and abrasion resistance on exposed areas, while remaining soft and supple throughout the torso. Seamless transition between the densities results in greater breathability and packability, while decreasing overall weight.
