The North Face NFZ Jacket review. OnTheSnow reviewed this insulated jacket as part of its 2016/2017 Jacket Buyers' Guide.

Favorite Features: The NFZ is a solid go-to for the resort skier looking for an array of features in a comfortable package. The mesh-lined pit zips were a nice touch, adding to other storm resistant features like Gore-Tex protection and waterproof YKK zippered pockets.

Room for Improvement: The Relaxed “ergo fit” guaranteed plenty of room for additional layering, but we found some material bunching beneath the armpits.

Fit: The large tested fit true to size and felt slightly snugger through the midsection than the chest. We found ample coverage along the bottom hem and along the cuffs.

On-Snow Performance: Lightweight and breathable, our tester was expecting TNF's NFZ to fall on the less warm end of the spectrum because it’s on the thinner side, but was pleasantly surprised by its insulation aptitude. Also impressed with the good amount of pockets in all the right places, he appreciated the high-zip collar but refrained from zipping up all the way, which caused the fabric on the jacket to stick to the helmet strap fabric.

Manufacturer Description: Conquer the no-fall zone with this ultra-durable, weatherproof Gore-Tex® 2L shell jacket that's designed to protect your upper half from abrasion and severe weather in the steeps. Equipped with big-mountain riding specific features.
