Snow Reporter Comments: Last Updated on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 8:15AM Another sunny day is expected today but with increasing clouds before a significant snowstorm lands back in the area by tomorrow evening. Due to weather on Saturday, the spring break 'Bear Break 2024' party has been scheduled for next Saturday, April 6. For more information on weather or snow predictions, check out Ben Brissey, our trusted local meteorologist in Big Bear Lake, CA. With more snow on the way, now is the time to claim the powder with a 24/25 season pass. All passes become valid immediately upon pickup which means you can ski or snowboard all spring AND all next winter. IN THE PARK Snow Valley: The Hideout has 6 features for all ability levels. From the Progression Park's rollers, jumps, and boxes to The EDGE's jibs, boxes, jumps, and snow features, the Park Crew has brought the terrain parks to life. Recent additions to The EDGE include a new flat rail and a bleacher box/rail combo. Snow Summit: The Family Fun Park off Ch. 9 includes skill builder boxes and rollers. Jib and jump updates are constant on the infamous Westridge with recent additions to the middle of the run that include a donkey rail and towards the bottom of the run goal post rails and boxes. Bear Mountain: Come check out the hill stacked with a mini half-pipe, jibs, rails, and snow features mountain wide. Along with the infamous Red Bull features, a few recent additions include a down zoob tube on Expressway, a euro gap to lightning rail stall setup on Lower Park Run, and a small a-frame rail on Learning Curve. With all the March snow the mountains have received plus more on the way this weekend, plan to ski and snowboard into April. Information including dates, prices, and hours are subject to change at any time. Night Sessions have ended for the remainder of the season, with all 3 resorts operating the following schedule through the end of the season: Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM Saturday-Sunday 8:30AM-4PM Today parking in all lots is free on a first-come, first-serve basis. This weekend - Friday-Sunday - is the last weekend for Upper Lot Reserved Parking. Starting Monday, parking in all lots is free through the season's end.

First Hand Report

Snow was good feb 12. Was a little powder in the morning and then got a little packed and a tiny bit slushy towards 3pm. The trails and parks were all open. Nice and groomed.

In the winter (November-April), Bear Mountain offers a combined 748 acres of skiable terrain with lifts and trails for all ability levels. Highlights include award-winning terrain parks, a recently renovated base area, and the region's largest beginner areas and highest lift-served peak (8,805 feet). Bear Mountain is part of Big Bear Mountain Resort, along with Snow Valley and Snow Summit. Where Is Bear Mountain Located? The easiest way to get to the mountain is by car, either your own or a rental. It’s about two and a half hours from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) depending on traffic.
