Calabogie Peaks, eastern Ontario's largest ski resort, is offering a couple of attractive March lift and lodging specials and a Holiday Camp for spring break youngsters.

The March Break Special, valid Sunday through Thursday throughout the month, offers 15-percent off daily lodging rates and two free lift tickets daily per room.

The Little Bit of Romance Package, from CA $135 (US $129.33) per person, based on double occupancy, includes lodging, a bottle of wine and assorted cheese tray, and dinner for two at Canthooks Restaurant.  You also have access to the Dickson Manor salt water pool and outdoor heated hot tub, outdoor skating rink, bonfire and cross-country ski trails. 

Holiday Camps for those on school break, March 15-19, includes daily lessons, which begin at 10:30 a.m.  The five-day lesson program is CA $135.  A five-day lift pack for Holiday Camp participants only is CA $90 (US $86.22) and a five-day ski or board rental package is also CA$90.  Call the number listed below to enroll in the camp.

Calabogie, with a 760-foot vertical drop, offers 22 runs and two terrain parks.  Long cruisers and a fistful of black-diamond runs take up the middle of the ski area.  Long green avenues fan out on the right side of the ski hill giving novice skiers and riders plenty of room to maneuver and practice.  The area's longest trail is about a mile-and-a-quarter long.
