2016/2017 Roxy Shima ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Powder Category.

Initially a swimwear line spawned from the surf giant Quiksilver, Roxy now has grown to encompass women’s winter gear, including the powder-oriented Roxy Shima. Tester totals resulted in high scores for float and low scores for carving. “The soft tip gives enough float to play with in the deep powder,” says Muecke. “It’s a multi-level ski.” The 106-mm-waisted ski has a freeride-oriented 5-point sidecut as well as tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot. Core construction includes a blend of poplar and beech wood plus tri-axial fiberglass. “This ski best suits intermediates and younger girls,” say Johnson. “It’s easy to maneuver but slow to act.”
