2016/2017 Armada TSTw ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its women’s Powder Category.

Armada calls the women’s powder series “DeepEST,” a nod to the EST rocker profile, which gives the TSTw rocker in the tip only, designed so the shovel will float and the tails will track through the turn (Look to the 115-mm-waisted VJJ for pure powder performance). “This ski behaves best off-piste in soft snow where it turns up the turbo,” says Muecke. “It’s easy to tip and turn.” The 100-mm-waisted TSTw received similar scores across the board, with slightly higher tester ratings for stability and float. Armada’s Hybrid Ultra-light core combines lightweight wood and hardwood laminates underfoot with a directional lattice pattern of fiberglass for torsional rigidity. The five-dimension sidecut puts the contact point and widest part of the ski in the forebody. “It lacks punch, but this Armada is easy to ski and versatile for moderate powder days,” says Brown.
