2016/2017 Rossignol Experience 88 HD ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its All-Mountain Front Category and awarded it an Editors’ Choice honor.

“Best carver in the group—I love that race ski feel, especially at high speed,” says Bills of the Rossignol Experience 88 HD, a ski that OnTheSnow testers awarded highest scores to in the carving criteria, lowest for flotation. This iteration of the Experience 88 combines a poplar core with Rossignol’s newest technology called Carbon Alloy Matrix, essentially, a blend of lightweight carbon fiber and shock-absorbing basalt fiber. Other details include Air Tip technology—honeycomb “air” pockets in the tip for swing weight reduction—tip and tail rocker and a Minicap sandwich that combines a durable top with sidewalls angled at 30 degrees. “I’m loving the large sweet spot and light feel,” says Jakob. “There’s not much float, but it’s number one for ripping turns T to B.”
