2016/2017 Dynastar Powertrack 89 ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s All-Mountain Front Category.

“The Powertrack doesn’t need much power to perform,” says Jakob. “It’s an all-day, all-mountain cruiser that shines on groomers.” Dynastar’s Powertrack 89 has a freeride-inspired 5-point sidecut, with a wide forebody, 89-mm waist and flat tail plus moderate tip and tail rocker. The construction, however, channels World Cup race skis thanks to full-length vertical sidewalls, two layers of Titanal and a sandwich laminate layout with a poplar wood core. Testers gave the ski high marks for stability, which outshined its performance in the float department. “Stability is the strongest asset,” says March. “Get it on edge and it’s committed.”
