2016/2017 Blizzard Brahma ski review. OnTheSnow tested this ski as part of its men’s All-Mountain Front Category.

The Brahma has a history of receiving high marks for carving, and indeed testers’ scores repeated that pattern, with lowest tallies coming in for float. An 88-mm-waist, a sandwich sidewall construction, plus two-and-a-half sheets of titanium stacked around a full wood core contribute to what ski tester March calls “strong carving acumen. This stiff ski holds an edge well, initiates turns easily and has no tip chatter,” he says. Lack of tip chatter can be attributed to the addition of Blizzard’s Carbon Flipcore, which integrates vibration-reducing carbon fiber into the rockered tip and tail—with rocker added during the production process. “This strong ski is less playful than other skis in the category, but the edge grip and stability give control when conditions get tough,” says Witman.
