First truly car-free ski resort
Pros: Quiet, good long runs,fast lifts, hardly any waiting
Cons: Utopia without the downside.
Walking about without cars, just horse and sleighs, also motorised carriers for getting heavy luggage from the cale car to the apartment, after that plain walking.Not a very big resort but has... Full review

Avoriaz - heart of Portes du Soleil
Pros: Huge area, tightly clustered village
Cons: Seems a little a tough to get to...
Avoriaz is near the geographic center of the vast Portes du Soleil area, on the French side. It’s a purpose-built ski town, so there’s no old-world European charm like you might find... Full review
